Hi, nice to meet ya!
I am an educator, mentor, and role model. I support all learners with their learning needs - from K-12 and college students to faculty in higher education. I have over ten years of experience working in schools and educational companies, where I gained a variety of teaching, tutoring, coaching, mentoring, homeschooling, after-school, curriculum design, and instructional design experience.
My 9-5 is working as an Instructional Designer in the Center for Teaching and Learning Excellence at Palm Beach State College where I support faculty in improving their teaching practices. My 5-9 is when I work as an Executive Function Coach supporting K-12 and college students with academics and building their executive-functioning skills (ie. time-management, planning, study skills).
I earned an MA in Curriculum and Instruction from Teachers College, Columbia University and have a BS in Biology from Stony Brook University.
I have worked as a high science school teacher at a premier all-girls private school in Los Angeles. In my work I craft individualized road maps and skill development plans to meet each learners unique goals. These goals can continually evolve based on feedback as I welcome open dialogue and collaboration. My vision as an educator is to create sessions where learners walk away feeling empowered about their capabilities.
I am passionate about supporting all learners including those with diverse learning profiles, such as those with ADD/ADHD, dyslexia, and dyscalculia. I am trained in the Lindamood-Bell Learning Process, a trusted methodology designed to help those with language acquisition. I am especially passionate about working with young women to draw connections between mindset and academic performance.
My core value as an educator is to support learners holistically. It truly is more than just helping improve on the task at hand, it's about giving learners the tools to succeed and be confident life-long learners. My working style is gentle and encouraging, yet firm. I hold learners to high standards while uplifting them through my incredibly warm and caring nature.
I LOVE WHAT I DO! I am truly honored to make a positive impact in the lives of those I work with.
A bit about me: I was born and raised in South Florida and spent most of my formative school years in New York City. I then spent several years in Los Angeles and recently returned to South Florida to be with my family. I enjoy taking walks in Nature, cooking healthy meals inspired by Ayurveda, meditating, and creating artwork.
